For over 50 years, the SED Center has provided bilingual education programs for children ages 3 months to 4 years, their families, and adults in the Washington metropolitan area. We help build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary for our families to navigate an increasingly multilingual, multicultural society.

In accordance with the Federal Civil Rights Law, the Spanish Education Development (SED) Center does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age, marital status, family responsibilities, political affiliation, or sexual orientation.

Earlier this month, as part of our 55-year celebration, we had the honor of hosting a special breakfast for our parents, teachers, staff, and Board of Directors.

For 55 years, the SED Center has been more than a school — it’s been a community built on dedication, compassion, and unwavering support for our students. This gathering was a small way to say thank you to the people who make that mission possible every single day.

Here’s to 55 years of impact — and to many more ahead.

A principios de este mes, como parte de nuestra celebración de 55 años, tuvimos el honor de organizar un desayuno especial para nuestros padres, maestros, personal y miembros de la Junta Directiva.

Durante 55 años, el SED Center ha sido más que una escuela — ha sido una comunidad construida sobre dedicación, compasión y un compromiso inquebrantable con nuestros estudiantes. Este encuentro fue una pequeña manera de agradecer a las personas que hacen posible esta misión todos los días.

Since 1971, the SED Center has grown alongside the Washington, DC community — shaped by the people who walked through our doors, believed in our mission, and helped build something lasting.

To our students, families, staff, partners, and supporters: this milestone belongs to you. Your trust, resilience, and commitment are the reason we are here today.

As we reflect on 55 years of impact, we also look ahead with purpose — continuing to learn, adapt, and serve with the same heart that started it all.

Desde 1971, el SED Center ha crecido junto a la comunidad de Washington, DC — gracias a las personas que han pasado por nuestras puertas, han creído en nuestra misión y han sido parte de lo que somos hoy.

A nuestros estudiantes, familias, personal, aliados y colaboradores: este logro les pertenece. Su confianza, resiliencia y compromiso son la razón por la que seguimos aquí.
