Welcome!

For over 50 years, the SED Center has provided bilingual education programs for children ages 3 months to 4 years, their families, and adults in the Washington metropolitan area. We help build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary for our families to navigate an increasingly multilingual, multicultural society. ​

Internship Program: Leah Daniel

On June 6th we welcomed Leah Daniel, she is rising senior Political Science major and Computer Science minor at Loyola Marymount University. As part of her internship, Leah is working in proposal writing, searching and identifying viable grant opportunities for the organization as well as preparing and submitting grant applications for general support for our Children and Adult programs and other specific projects.

Fabrizio Ivan Rosenbaum – Colegio Emaús; Buenos Aires, Argentina


On July 5th we welcomed Fabrizio Ivan Rosenbaum, a high school student at Colegio Emaús (Technical school specialized in Electromechanics) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is the second time that Fabrizio visits the United States and will spend one month in Washington DC. Fabrizio is interested in learning how a non-profit works, improving his English language skills and doing community services at SED.

Farewell Diana, Salvador, and Emilio!

We are going to miss them! On May 3rd, we said farewell to our interns Jose Salvador Atemiz, a studentof Information and Communication Technology from D.F. Mexico, Diana Laura Pérez student of Music and Education/Social Sciences from Guerrero, Mexico and Jesus Emilio Ontiveros student of Education/Culture and Anthropology from Sonora, Mexico. They were part of Governors and Sonora 100 Programs through The Washington Center. Thank you for all the help and support ofour programs, parents, and community.  We wish them all the best!​
