The SED Center’s teachers give children a sense of control over the events of the day by planning a predictable yet flexible daily routine. Our teachers maintain the overall routine as consistently as possible, while flexing it to accommodate individual children's natural rhythms and temperaments.
Although each classroom team decides on the routine that works best for its group setting, schedule, and children, the components listed below are always included during the program day. Daily Schedule Components:
Preschool RoutinesOur daily preschool schedule is planned to provide a balance of activities across the following dimensions:
Routine tasks are incorporated into the program as a means for furthering children's learning, self-help, and social skills. Routines such as toileting eating, dressing and sleeping are handled in a relaxed, reassuring manner based on each child’s developmental needs. The staff plans alongside parents ways to make these routines and the development of other independent skills a positive experience for their children. MealsThe SED Center is committed to providing each child in our program with wholesome and nutritious meals including breakfast, a hot lunch, and snack. We cook all of our meals onsite and plan menus in accordance with USDA standards for each age group.
