Infant and Toddler Care
Volunteer as a teacher's aide helping children ages 3 month to 2 years old with naptime, meal times, diaper changing, using the toilet, washing, and dressing. Provide infants and toddlers with experiences and opportunities that allow for the development of curiosity, initiative, problem-solving, and creativity. Provide educational opportunities through an environment that engages children at all developmental levels. Preschool
Volunteer as a teacher's aide in our bilingual preschool helping children ages 2.5 to 4 years old get a great start on their education. Volunteers interact with children by reading stories, teaching and playing games and songs, working with children in small group activities designed by the teachers, and supervising the children at the park. Saturday - Sunday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Volunteers act as teacher's aides for our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes. Through volunteer participation in small group work, students receive more interaction and exposure to native speakers of English. Knowledge of Spanish is not required to volunteer with this program. We seek volunteers who are committed and have shown a responsible track record in school or in previous jobs. Experience with ESOL instruction is not a requirement, as we provide a series of orientations and workshops to give volunteers the necessary skills to perform their jobs as ESOL teacher's aides. The SED Center is always in need of volunteers to help us in our fundraising efforts. We are looking for talented individuals who can help us with data entry, grant proposal writing, prospect research, copy editing, and our annual fundraising event, the Pub Games. We can also always use dedicated individuals or groups to fundraise on our behalf. Unpaid internships are also available (see below). Communications We are looking for volunteers and interns to help us communicate about all the great things that the SED Center does in the community. We are in need of volunteers who can help us with website design and content, social media, PR, copy editing photography, graphic design, and translation.
