Arts Integration

In the classroom, various learning styles come together to learn common concepts. The challenge lies in recognizing each student’s style and tailoring lessons in a way that they teach and captivate all students—something not always possible. According to the Washington Post, bringing the arts into the classroom can accomplish just this, accounting for “students who might not otherwise absorb traditional classroom methods”. The concept, titled “art integration” promotes the use of “dance, drama, and the visual arts to teach a variety of academic subjects in a more engaging way.” While not a huge effect, “art integration” appears to “reach a lot of children who struggle with traditional book lessons.”
