Welcome!

For over 50 years, the SED Center has provided bilingual education programs for children ages 3 months to 4 years, their families, and adults in the Washington metropolitan area. We help build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary for our families to navigate an increasingly multilingual, multicultural society. ​

Lunar New Year with Mrs. Sharina Suned!

Today, our students had the wonderful opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of the Lunar New Year, all thanks to a captivating presentation by Mrs. Sharina Suned. With vibrant visuals and engaging storytelling, Mrs. Suned brought the essence of this cultural celebration to life in our classrooms.

Through her insightful presentation, our students gained a deeper understanding of the significance of Lunar New Year customs, from the symbolic red envelopes exchanged for good luck to the festive dragon dances that grace the streets during this auspicious time.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Suned for sharing her knowledge and passion for this cherished holiday with our school community. Her dedication to cultural education enriches the experiences of our students and fosters a spirit of inclusivity and appreciation for diverse traditions.

As we celebrate the Lunar New Year, may the warmth of togetherness and the promise of new beginnings fill our hearts and homes.

Hoy, nuestros estudiantes tuvieron la maravillosa oportunidad de sumergirse en las ricas tradiciones del Año Nuevo Lunar, todo gracias a una cautivadora presentación de la Sra. Sharina Suned. Con visuales vibrantes y narraciones cautivadoras, la Sra. Suned dio vida a la esencia de esta celebración cultural en nuestras aulas.

A través de su perspicaz presentación, nuestros estudiantes adquirieron una comprensión más profunda de la importancia de las costumbres del Año Nuevo Lunar, desde los simbólicos sobres rojos intercambiados para la buena suerte hasta las festivas danzas de dragones que adornan las calles durante este tiempo auspicioso.

Extendemos nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a la Sra. Suned por compartir su conocimiento y pasión por esta festividad con nuestra comunidad escolar. Su dedicación a la educación cultural enriquece las experiencias de nuestros estudiantes y fomenta un espíritu de inclusión y aprecio por las diversas tradiciones.
