Welcome!

On July 18, The Spanish Education Development (SED) Center was the honored recipient of a grant award in the amount of $ 2,123.00 to buy musical instruments and costumes to support a Music and Drama Station for our Children’s Program. The award was presented by the Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service Class of 2018 at The Grant Awards Luncheon at Clyde’s in Gallery Place.

Special thanks to Mr. Roger Ream, President of TFAS, Kayla Anderson, Manager of IPVS, and all the students from the IPVS Class of 2018 for their support!

Established in 1999, the Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service (IPVS) educates students about the American traditions of philanthropy and individual responsibility in order to encourage the vibrant, private efforts that are the true American response to those in need. The Institute works to reinforce a sense of individual responsibility for one’s own future and cultivates an appreciation for the primacy of privately led philanthropy.

-The IPVS Project -
This project is designed to allow IPVS students the chance to directly impact youth and education in the DC community. Participants learn valuable event-planning, fundraising, grantmaking and facilitation skills through service and philanthropy. The students plan a series of fundraising events to raise money for a grant that goes to a worthy organization of the class’ choosing. In addition to the fundraising committee work, students also take part in various services projects.

TFAS has educated nearly 17,000 students from all 50 states and 100 countries around the world.

Thank you The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) & IPVS for making a different in the lives of our children!
